Social Online Media + Concierge = Blog Talk Radio

January 30, 2010 by warpspeederrands

Ever wonder just what exactly I do?  Curious to why I use Online Social Media?  How exactly does a concierge work?   I had a great blog talk radio session with the Social Media Dudes on these and other exciting topics.  You can listen here: http://tobtr.com/s/883986

If you wish to learn more about Online Social Media Marketing, I highly recommend John Panico and Dennis Lynn to be your guides.  They are both down to earth and can put all the confusing aspects of social media into laymen terms and walk you through the ropes.

I hope you enjoy the session as much as I had fun answering questions on what I am passionate about.  Feel free to leave comments and questions.

If you like to contact John and Dennis, visit their site:  http://socialmediadudes.com/

May your day be profitable,

Welcome Fall! Welcome Fall Festivals in Northeast Georgia

September 18, 2009 by warpspeederrands

sunflowers-300

It is that time of the year again. Picking apples, harvesting of the grapes, corn mazes and festivals are fun for all ages, and can be found right here in Northeast Georgia. Below is a list of a few of my favorite local Fall Festivals. Each weekend coming up have something for everyone in the family to enjoy. These events are but a short drive from us, and offer low, if not free admissions for a weekend of entertainment.

While driving up to some of the most northern county fairs, be sure to take time to sight see along the way. Admire the breathtaking scenery of rolling mountains at the height of leaf turning season. Be sure to stop at small road side country stores for a taste of rock candy, or pick up a jar of homemade preserves of various flavors for unique packed lunch sandwiches for school or work.

Petit Le Mans returns to Northeast Georgia’s own Road Atlanta

September 15, 2009 by warpspeederrands

Welcome race fans!  Did you know Northeast Georgia is home to a world class racing circuit?  Our very own Road Atlanta is located off of Highway 53 in Braselton, GA, just minutes north of Flowery Branch.  While I am a avid racing fan, I do not hold a candle to my husband Sean’s knowledge and love for the sport of auto racing.  So, with that in mind I relinquish The Errand Goddess’ Blog over to my dear husband, Sean…

“Only a few days away from this year’s Petit LeMans. Even in these tough economic times, manufacturers and teams from around the world will compete on one of America’s finest race courses. 31 teams in three different classes (12 LMP1, 5 LMP2, and a 14 car Unified GT class/GT2) battle it out in a 10 hour/1000 mile race, which doubles as a qualifying race for the 24 Heures du Mans.

Come watch as Corvette (formerly GT1) takes on Ferrari and Porsche teams in head-to-head competition for the first time in Petit history. Last years’s race was a thriller with Alan McNish’s Audi R10 passing Christian Klien’s Peugeot 908 for the overall lead with less than 20 mins to spare. This year should be thrilling as well with Peugeot winning this year’s 24 Heures du Mans for the first time in recent memory, Now, Peugeot takes that momentum to challenge Audi North America on its ‘home track’ – since Audi has never lost a ‘Petit’ in 8 straight events.

Also, witness the “Green Challenge”, where race teams see who can go the fastest and farthest with the smallest carbon footprint. With cars running cellulosic E85 ethanol, Biodiesel and even Hybrid technology, Petit LeMans is Georgia’s showcase for what truly are ‘the cars or tomorrow’.

See you there!!”

Songs include: Lady is a Tramp, Mack the Knife, My Way, NewYork New York, That’s Amore, Everybody Loves Somebody, and many more!

Tips and Tricks

(thanks to: http://www.ehow.com/how_4489623_pick-apples-apple-orchard.html)

Ask the orchard owner/manager which trees flowered first in the spring. The owner will also be able to advise you on what makes each variety of apple unique.

Only pick apples that are completely ripe. You will know that red apples are completely ripe when the area of the apple near the stem (this area doesn’t turn red) is green. It the area is yellow the apple is not ripe. Green apples are ripe when no yellow is visible on the skin. Red and Green Delicious and Granny Smiths are the first apples to ripen.

Select apples that are not bruised. Apples that are bruised will rot quickly.

Pick the apples on the tree’s outer branches. Apples on the outer edges of the tree ripen more quickly than those on the inner branch.

Don’t jerk the apple from the tree branch. When picking apples you should roll the apple towards the tree branch, and then twist the apple until the stem breaks free.

Gently place each apple into your basket. Tossing your apples into the basket may cause the apple to bruise.

The Errand Goddess hopes you enjoy your day in the Orchard. If you don’t get a chance to visit a Apple Orchard this Labor Day weekend, not to worry, the Apple season is at it’s height during the months of September through November.
