Back in 2008, my husband and I attended the Blairsville Scottish Festival. We had a blast that year, even in the pouring down rain. The rain made all the more ‘Scottish’. The rain really came down during the Highland Games Athletic Competitions, and made the games all the more interesting. I had to admit, I was fascinated with the Border Collie demonstration and the Falconry as well as the actual Athletic Competitions. Sean was able to find out a bit more about his clan, but we have a long way to go to trace his roots. I honestly felt a bit of an outsider with only a little Scot in me, and a whole lot of German and English. However, everyone I talked to loved having me there and wanting to learn more about the Highland traditions.

This year’s festival is the weekend of June 12th and 13th, 2010, and will once again be at Meeks Park in Blairsville, GA. Activities will include:
